I have some bad news to report. Today we had to put the little Moorhen to sleep. There had been no imprvement in her leg, there was no feeling or circulation and she was becoming depressed being in captivity. Therefore we decided that this was the best course of action for her.

I found walking to heal, advice on behaviour, socialisation at end of sessions for all the dogs very useful.   Mrs. M

I enjoyed it when my dog was interacting with others.   Mrs. T

I found the recall and stay commands very useful.      Mr. B

I enjoyed training my dog, I found the basic commands and the record sheet very useful. Mr & Mrs H

The atmosphere was very relaxed and found the whole course very useful and enjoyable. I would recommend this to a friend.   Mrs. W

I found the presentation evening very interesting and I would continue training my dog to a higher level with Sitting Pretty.   Mrs B

The course was very enjoyable with lots of information and help from the trainers. I would definitely carry on training my dog with Sitting Pretty.   Mr. G

This afternoon a Moorhen was brought into us after being found in the Stirchley area unable to walk. On closer examination, the Moorhen was found to have fishing line wrapped around both legs. Once we removed the fishing line it became apparent that one of her legs had poor blood circulation due to the tension of the fishing line.

We decided to give her a chance by allowing her to rest in our warm kennels and administering physio to her leg to try and improve circulation- only time will tell. We will keep you updated with her progress.

The Fishing line has caused a deep                 As you can see the right leg

wound when restricting the blood flow                is much more swollen

The dreaded fishing line

It was the final night of the dog training six week course tonight. Tonight involved the assessment of all dogs and handlers on their skill and commands learnt during the six weeks.

All dogs and handlers have improved greatly since the first training night back in March. All dogs and handlers received a certificate and will have a class photo sent to them later in the week.

If anyone is interested in following in the footsteps of these successful dogs and handlers please call us on 01952 201369 for more information.

The pheasant now named Harriett is doing very well. Her leg is healing nicely in the splint. She is becoming very bossy and hopefully a couple more weeks and we can release her. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Further update to Abby's cute baby guinea pigs. Unfortunately one passed away leaving her with 5 furry babies. Two (one male and one female) have been successfully re-homed to Garth's daughter Lauren. She is very proud of her g. pigs and taking good care of them. Abby is keeping the other female guinea pig to go with her little family of pigs. Therefore there are two little males left, which are looking for a happy, loving home. If anyone is interested please contact us on 01952 201369

Yesterday Rhian our Veterinary Nurse rescued a female pheasant from the A5. The pheasant has been clipped by a car. On initial examination she seemed concussed but on a closer examination it revealed she had broken her leg.

Rhian brought her into work today for her leg to be placed in a splint and hopefully this will help heal the fracture. We will keep you updated on her progress.
